Recipe for Homemade Ice Cream
Try this recipe for homemade ice cream. You may decide that it is the best homemade ice cream recipe ever! This homemade vanilla ice cream recipe can be the basis for many other ice cream recipes. You can alter it with fruit, flavorings and other additions to make many other tasty homemade ice cream desserts and treats.

Ingredients:
2 cups half-and-half
1 cup whipping cream
3/4 cup sugar
1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a large saucepan. Be sure to include the vanilla bean and the scraped pulp. Use a candy thermometer attached to the inside of the saucepan.
Put the pan and ice cream mixture on the stove over medium heat and heat it to 170 degrees F. Stir occasionally.
Remove the ice cream mixture from the heat and allow to it cool slightly. Remove the vanilla bean hull and pour the mixture into a covered container.
Put ice cream mixture in your ice cream freezer and follow the unit's instructions. The ice cream will not freeze hard in the machine. Once the homemade ice cream has reached a soft serve consistency, spoon the mixture back into a covered container and allow it to harden in your freezer for at least one hour before serving.
Easy No-Cook Recipe for Homemade Ice Cream

2 quarts half and half
1/2 pint heavy cream
1 1/2 cups white sugar
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Directions:
Combine the half and half, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla and salt in freezer container of ice cream maker.
Freeze according to ice cream freezer
