Frugal Meals Crockpot Recipes
Sometimes the manner of cooking can help greatly in creating frugal meals.
Crockpot recipes are a standby for making delicious yet frugal recipes. You can buy cheaper, less tender cuts of meat and the crockpot will tenderize them.
Soups, stews and other meals are also wonderful frugal meal crockpot stars.

Mom's Pot Roast
Ingredients:
1 3-5 lb. roast
1 package store brand onion soup mix
1 small onion, chopped
2 Tbsp. Worstershire sauce
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Directions:
Put roast and all other ingredients in crockpot on low heat. This can cook all day while you are at work.
Serve with potatoes, vegetabes or a salad and bread.

Easy CrockPot Chicken
1 whole fryer chicken
Your choice of seasonings
Remove giblets. Rinse & dry chicken. Season inside and out with your choice of seasonings. Place chicken in crock-pot breast side down.
Cook on high for one hour. Cook on low for 10 hours. When chicken is done, remove from crock-pot with slotted spoons or slotted spatulas (helps remove a lot of the chicken fat), and carve.
Serve chicken with your choice of sides.

Homemade Chicken Soup
1 whole fryer chicken
1 bag baby carrots
1 bunch celery, sliced
1 onion, chopped
1 cup rice or barley
1 can chicken broth
Salt, pepper, and garlic salt to taste
Water to cover everything
Place chicken, broth, water and seasonings in crockpot and cook on high for 3 hours. Remove chicken from crockpot and take meat from the bones.
Return chicken to crockpot and add the carrots, celery and onion. Add rice or barley. Cook for another couple of hours to allow vegetables to cook, and flavors to blend.
This is a large recipe.

Taco Soup
2 lbs browned ground beef/ground chuck
1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
1 pkg taco seasoning
2 cans kidney beans - drained
2 cans chili beans - drained
2 cans diced tomatoes - including liquid
2 cans yellow hominy - drained
1 can tomato sauce
tortilla chips
sour cream
shredded cheddar cheese
Place browned ground beef/chuck and all other ingredients in crockpot. Heat on low/medium heat for several hours. Serve over tortilla chips or use chips to dip soup. Top with cheddar cheese & sour cream.
