Frugal Budgeting

We've Researched the Best
Frugal Budgeting Advice and
Included Lots of Frugal Money Saving Tips.

Frugal Budgeting Frugal budgeting means sticking with the necessities and having the wisdom to choose between needs and want. If you don't have a budget right now, you may need some expert help to create a budget to resolve your financial problems.

There are many things that you might be paying for that you could get for free or simply do without.

Don’t Pay for Movie Channels

There are plenty of shows on basic cable. While the basic cable prices continue to be very low, around $40-$50 per month, add-ons like HBO can double the monthly price.

Shop Around for Internet

If Verizon is in your area, it is usually the cheapest source of high speed internet. If you don’t need high speed, choose something less expensive. Packaging TV cable services with internet might be less expensive. Do the math and save.

Don’t Buy Books

Go to the library. That’s common frugal budgeting advice. But, it holds true year after year. Let the people that can afford it pay for the latest novels. Satisfy your reading needs with a library card.

Don’t Eat Out

This is one of my favorite frugal money saving tips. Fast food is not only expensive, in most cases, it is unhealthy. Some of the items on the menu boards contribute to obesity, heart disease and even wrinkles. A recent report concluded that white bread, potatoes, sugar and other simple carbs cause wrinkles and cellular aging within the body, too. So, if you order a hamburger, French fries and a coke, you are messing up your budget and your body.

Be Careful About Buying in Bulk

This is one of the frugal money saving tips that comes from personal experience. Buying in bulk is not always smart. Paper goods and other items that can be stored without worry can be bought in bulk. Most foods can and will go bad. Spices are an example. If you buy one of the club-sized bottles of oregano, the leaves will lose their flavor, long before you can use them, unless you run a restaurant.

Shop Around for Car Insurance

This is not just frugal budgeting, it’s smart. A friend of mine recently cut her car insurance premiums in half by switching from one company to another. Not to mention any names, but the one with the lizard is not always the cheapest.

Buy a Coffee Pot and Some Travel Mugs

A quarter doesn’t buy a cup of coffee anymore. Coffee, sodas and other beverages are some of the most over-priced items around. Fast food chains make more profits on sodas than on any other items that they sell. If you don’t like the frugal money saving tips about not eating out, at least order it to go and buy your sodas from the grocery store.

Frugal budgeting is actually fun and educational. You learn to go to the public park, instead of a shopping mall. You learn to cook, instead of buying convenience foods. So, learn, have fun and save money, too.
