A special photograph in a frame

by B.B.
(California, USA)

This is a homemade gift that I have given to my family with wonderful results. It is quite personal and I think it really lets the person you are giving it to know that you've put some thought into the gift.

For each of my parents one year, I bought frames with 3 picture slots in them. I got them at a discount store so the cost was very reasonable.

Then I selected 3 different family pictures and turned them into black and white photos in my photo editor (Photoshop).

I sized them for the frame and printed them out on glossy photo paper.

Then I assembled them in the frame and sent one to my mother and one to my father for Christmas.

My mom told me that she cried and my dad absolutely loved it - and he is generally reserved so I could tell it really meant something to him.

The best part was how I personally felt. The feelings that I experienced creating the idea and the gifts were joy, love and happiness towards my parents. I felt that I was communicating my love for them by creating that unique and special homemade gift.
