Letter From Mom, Issue #011-- When Is Mother's Day?
April 12, 2011

When Is Mother's Day?

In the United States, we celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May. This year that Sunday is May 8, 2011. If you are not ready for Mother’s Day, that means you have 25 days to think about how you want to honor your mother.

My mother is 92 years old and I am blessed to still have her with me. If you want to read a bit about her, I have some of her story on the Advice From Mom website on a page titled Amazing Mom Stories

You will also see a place where you can share stories about your own amazing mom or a mother you admire. A great way to honor a mom would be to post a story about her and then send her a link to the page where you have shared your tribute.

The Advice From Mom website features lots of pages about mothers and motherhood. As Mother’s Day approaches, here are just two:

Poems About Mothers

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington Irving
