Several of our adult children have recently been laid off from their jobs. This is the first time anyone in our family has had difficulty finding work. My guess this is happening to people you know and love as well. The economic situation we are all in was the “spark” for me to add some new pages to the Advice From Mom site. It seems that the things one generation learns are unlearned when money is plentiful and have to be relearned when it is not. If there is any good news about the struggle in the economy, it is that we have opportunity to learn some new skills and the joy of knowing that we can gain control of some of what has been out of control.

I know that all of you have wisdom and tips you can share about saving money, doing with less and finding ways to cope with current realities. Last, I want to recommend a couple of resources. The first is a page on the website where I’ve added three free ebooks that you can download.
